Curieuse Island & S.t Pierre

Hike across Curieuse Island, 1.7km
Dolphins!
Our guide walked ahead of us, looking for things to show us...
...like this little crab...
...and this sweet Aldabra giant tortoise..

S.t Pierre Islet

Our guide picked us up in the morning and we met up with some other tourists who were also joining us. The excursion started with a boat trip along Praslin and over to Curieuse Island, just off the cost. On the island we visited the famous Doctors house dating back to the 1800s (although rebuilt), and started our hike across the island to get to Laraie Bay. As we arrived there, about an hour later (yes our guide walked quite slowly), we got acquainted with lots of Aldabra giant tortoises who were keen on getting close contact with us.

At lunch, our chef served us a lovely meal consisting of barbequed fresh fish, rice, and creole sauce, see photo above. After another shorter boat trip, we snorkeled around S.t Pierre islet and saw a great deal of beautiful fish. Sadly, we didn't get to see any sea turtles which we had hoped for, nevertheless, we did see dolphins from the boat which was an incredible view and actually made my day!
