So, summer didn't exactly start the way I had hoped for. After getting better from the horrible flu that I was unlucky to get the final weeks of spring, my body was apparently not yet fine. The doctors thought it was time to remove my appendix, but it turned out to be an inflammation in my large intestine which is why I had to stay in the hospital. I was not allowed to eat for about 40 hours and had to go through several scans and x-rays to find out what was wrong. Due to the major pain I was in, I was given morphine that made me both cry and laugh at the same time. It was a couple of very strange days considering I have never been through something similar before. I suppose the feeling of not being in control and lack of knowledge was the hardest part after the pain. But eventually, after fasting, I slowly got better while eating food that would be easy to digest...mainly yoghurt and mashed potatoes.

However, I got better and started to enjoy my holiday. My birthday was celebrated with friends and family, firstly at "Gröna Lund" (an amusement park in town) and girls' night out, and secondly, a dinner at my parents' house with lots of great food and company.

Since my sister is pregnant and came up to Stockholm to celebrate my birthday, my younger sister and I decided to throw her a baby shower which was very successful. We made a diaper cake and had bought cute little baby clothes and other necessary things for the baby. She was very surprised!

After having a couple of weeks of doing my best to relax and taking things as they come, I realise more than half of my holiday has already passed. Therefore, there are no words that can describe the feeling of sitting on my balcony today, writing this post and at the same time making a list of things to pack for Bali next week. Gotta love summer!
