Intruder of the night

Last night, we had quite an ugly experience making us, once again, realise we are far away from home. We had just gone to bed and I was lying comfortably in my bed doing some reading when I hear Malin complaining about a mosquito inside her mosquito net. Suddenly, the complaining changes into screaming and all I hear is: 'Oohhh nooo, there's something big inside my net', and Malin jumps out of her bed and runs across the room to the other side. As I get up, we turn the light on and take a closer look. All I can say is, what we saw, was not a normal cockroach. It was huge, thick and crawled underneath (inside!!!) Malin's mosquito net. We were not sure of how to get it out of the bed but knew, this was simply too much for us to handle. Surely, we have had fights with various insects during our stay here, however, this was on a completely different level. Shaking and disgusted, we opened our door thinking perhaps someone outside could help us. Unfortunately, it was quite late and the hallway was empty. Instead, we decided to go up to the third floor looking for a guy who had, a couple of days earlier, offered his help in case of any emergencies, and trust me, this was one of great gravity. As his room appeared dark from outside, we did not have the guts to knock on the door in case we would wake him up. Luckily, we met another guy in the corridor and explained we had a huge cockroach in our bed and that we needed help, he kindly came with us. 

Being too scared to watch the procedure of capturing our intruder from a close distance, I stood outside the room and followed the process by watching Malin's facial expressions, which said pretty much everything. The guy, now our hero, took a close look at the bed, and quickly put his hand over the creature, went outside our room, still, with the creature in his hands, and then, forcefully, threw it on the ground, leaving it with some final death throes. Although resistant, we went back to our room and emptied our beds, having trouble falling asleep in case it would happen again. 

Note to self: Always check the bed for various intruders before laying down.
