One door closes and another door opens

Sometimes life can take a turn for the worse, suddenly and painfully, and it seems as if there is no way out. Everything; daily routines, relations and feelings become hard to deal with and a feeling of exhaustion takes over the body and soul like a sickness. Confusing thoughts occupy the mind and it is difficult to know what way to think and act, which road to take. Normally, one simply has to struggle against all these emotions and go on with everyday life, no matter how tough and challenging it may be. In other cases, people escape to a place where things don't have to remind them of what they have been through and to slowly, rebuild themselves.

As for me, I have been given an unusual opportunity and it turns out I'm going to Africa for the rest of the semester. Hence, another way of dealing (or not dealing) with a sad, troublesome and complicated private life. Recently, I found out that I have received a 'Minor Field Study' scholarship to finish my final course of the Teaching programme in Tanzania. At the moment, I believe this may be exactly what I need in order to move on and hopefully, regain my 'joie de vivre'.
